The Simpson Strong-Tie DPT7Z Deck Post Tie products are used to attach 4x4 vertical posts to the side of stringers, rims or other wood members. The Strong-Tie DPT7Z deck tension tie features a G185 ZMAX galvanized finish for added corrosion resistance and requires the use of hot-dip galvanized fasteners which meet the specifications of ASTM A153.

• Use all specified HDG fasteners.
• Install in pairs.
• Install with two 3/8" through bolts into side member and 5-10d nails to post.
• DPT5Z and DPT7Z may be installed with the Strong-Drive SD Structural Connector screw (not load rated).

NOTE: The correct fasteners installed in the correct position must be used to achieve published load values
