Description
Simpson Strong-Tie HGU high-capacity girder hanger is a face-mount hanger used for retrofit on the framing members after they are temporarily placed into position. Installation made fast and easy, without predrilling, using Simpson Strong-Tie® Strong-Drive® SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws. The HGU is available up to 45° or with one flange concealed.
  • Use all specified fasteners.
  • HGU Heavy Girder Face-Mount Hanger can be installed with 1/4" x 2-1/2" SDS Heavy-Duty Connector Screws which come with GU series hangers.
    • These hangers may be replaced with 1/4" x 3-1/2" SDS or 1/4" x 5" SDS screws for two or three-ply LVL headers so that the load may be transferred to all plies instead of using the 1/4" x 2-1/2" SDS Face Screws that come with this HGU hanger. This option does not eliminate the need for uniform fastener requirements along the length of the two or three-ply header.
  • Multiple sizes are available for glulam or structural composite lumber.
  • HGU-series hangers are flame and temperature resistant.

    NOTE: The correct fasteners installed in the correct position must be used to achieve published load values
