Description:

Simpson Strong-Tie U face mount hangers are a durable hanger designed for use with solid sawn lumber. The Strong-Tie U210 joist hanger features a G90 galvanized finish for added corrosion resistance and requires the use of hot-dip galvanized fasteners which meet the specifications of ASTM A153.


Installation:
  • Use all specified fasteners.
  • Use hot-dip galvanized (HDG) nails with ZMAX and HDG connector products. Use Type 316 stainless-steel nails with our stainless-steel connector products.
  • Joists sloped up to 1/4:12 achieve load tables.

NOTE: The correct fasteners installed in the correct position must be used to achieve published load values

Joist hanger brackets

The joist brackets were the heavy duty (16 gauge thick) type.
They were packaged well and delivered promptly.

A better product

I purchased this joist hanger because it is fabricated out of 16-gauge steel. I am using these to reinforce the floor joists in a modular home where I plan to place a heavy antique piano and a brick hearth to place a wood stove. I am not happy with the quality of the construction of this home from Pennsylvania, and am undergoing efforts to remedy these deficiencies. Also, I cannot find these floor joist hangers at brick-and-mortar stores such as Home Depot, which only sell the 20-gauge version.
