Simpson Strong-Tie Stud Shoes – Fasteners Plus

Simpson Stud Shoes are designed and manufactured to protect and reinforce wood studs that have notches cut to allow plumbing and other access through the stud. When this happens, it decreases the strength of the stud, and also makes the plumbing or other important parts susceptible to puncture from nails and other fasteners. These Stud Shoes increase the strength of the stud, and also create a shield to prevent those fasteners from driving into the pipes going through the studs.

Stud Shoes are available in different sizes to accommodate 2x studs, 3x studs, 4x studs, double-2x studs or triple 2x studs, and come in two different styles - one with an open end using standard 10d nails (SS versions), and one with a bendable, closed end, which uses Simpson SDS Connector Screws that are included (HSS versions).
