HSS/SS Simpson Stud Shoes are designed specifically to reinforce wall studs that have been notched for plumbing work and other modifications. Made from 16 gauge steel with a galvanized finish, these stud shoes are easily installed and do provide additional tension load capacity and strength. The Simpson SS1.5 2x Stud Shoe requires the use of 12 - 10d x 1-1/2" Nails for installation to be load-rated.
