Simpson Strong-Tie H1.81Z Hurricane Ties provide a secure rafter-to-wall connection for engineered wood framing applications. Designed for use with 1-3/4" LVL rafters, this connector helps resist uplift and lateral forces caused by high winds and seismic activity. Its 1-3/4" LVL compatibility makes it a dependable choice for modern roof framing projects.
Built from 18-gauge steel, the H1.81Z offers reliable strength for residential and light commercial construction. The ZMAX® finish provides enhanced corrosion resistance, making it suitable for exterior applications and many treated-lumber conditions where added protection is needed.
The H1.81Z hurricane tie is designed for efficient installation while maintaining strong performance at critical roof-to-wall connections. Its U-shaped design helps simplify placement and can be installed with the flanges facing inward or outward for added installation flexibility on the jobsite.
