L-Track Systems, Straps, and Fittings
L-track, also called airline track or logistic track, is a low-profile aluminum rail with evenly spaced slots that accept spring-loaded fittings. Mount it in a pickup bed, cargo van, box truck, or trailer and you can place a tie-down point nearly anywhere along its length instead of being stuck with a few fixed anchors. This collection brings together the rails, fittings, straps, and kits you need to build a system.
How an L-Track System Comes Together
- A rail is fastened to a structural floor, wall, or ceiling surface.
- Stud fittings snap into the slots and lock in place.
- Straps, hooks, or other tie-down hardware connect to the fittings.
- When the load changes, the fittings can be moved to a new position along the track.
Rails are pre-drilled for mounting, and they can be cut to length with common tools. Because installation quality drives how strong a finished system is, review the track's mounting guidance and your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations before you drill. If you are unsure about a layout, our team can walk through it with you.
L-Track vs. E-Track
L-track has a narrower, lower profile than E-track, which makes it a better match for pickup beds, vans, and other places where space is tight or where wheeled cargo rolls across the floor. E-track is a wider rail that is more common on commercial trailers. If you are weighing the two, you can browse E-track straps and tie downs alongside the L-track options below.
Choose a Rail Style
Standard L-Track
Standard L-track is the all-purpose choice, with a rectangular profile that can be surface mounted or flush mounted. It is offered in unpainted and black anodized finishes, such as the 72" black anodized rail.
Aircraft Style L-Track
Aircraft style L-track uses a stronger, stiffer 6351 aluminum with a squared profile. It is a good fit for heavier equipment, and rails like the 6' heavy-duty airline-style rail include countersunk holes for flush mounting.
Angled L-Track
Angled L-track has sloped edges so tires roll over it more easily. It is designed for surface mounting and suits motorcycles, ATVs, and carts.
Recessed L-Track
Recessed (flanged) L-track sits down into the floor, leaving the slots flush with the surface so there is no lip to catch a wheel or boot.
Single Anchor Points
No room for a full rail? Anchor point tie downs give you a single L-track connection on a plate or bolt-down base, ideal for ATVs, skid steers, and tight spots.
Picking the Right Setup
- Mounting location: decide whether the rail will be surface mounted or recessed, and whether wheeled cargo will roll over it.
- Load: heavier equipment calls for double stud fittings and straps with higher working load limits. Total strength depends on every component and on installation, not on the track alone.
- Accessories: choose compatible fittings, end caps, and straps that match your cargo and conditions.
Fittings and Accessories
The L-track fittings and accessories collection covers single and double stud fittings with rings, D-rings, delta links, pear links, and bolt threads, plus L-track hooks, end caps, and fastener packs. Finishing pieces like the 10' track filler strip help keep dirt out of unused slots and smooth the surface for rolling cargo.
Straps for L-Track
Browse L-track straps built to clip directly into the rail or fittings, including 1" ratchet straps, 2" ratchet straps, and cam straps. Always follow the strap's working load limit and keep the load angles within the manufacturer's guidance.
Kits
For a faster start, see our L-track kits, which bundle rails or anchor points with fittings, including motorcycle systems such as the 6' motorcycle L-track system.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does L-track work?
The rail's slots accept spring-loaded stud fittings that lock into place. Straps connect to those fittings, so you can reposition tie-down points to suit each load.
Can I install L-track in a van or trailer?
Yes, it is commonly installed in cargo vans, box trucks, enclosed trailers, and toy haulers. Mount it to appropriate structural material and use fasteners suited to the surface.
Is L-track suitable for motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs?
It is widely used for them when it is installed properly and paired with correctly rated straps. Keep strap angles and working load limits in mind, and follow the manufacturers' guidance.
Can L-track be mounted on walls, floors, or ceilings?
Yes. Floors support equipment tie-down, walls support lateral securement, and ceilings can carry items like shoring beams, provided the track is secured to suitable structure.
Can L-track be used for wheelchair restraint?
No. Our L-track is intended for cargo control and recreational use and is not certified for wheelchair occupant restraint in buses, vans, or other transport vehicles.
