Match strap length to the distance from anchor point to anchor point, then add a buffer for routing around the load. Shorter straps are faster to tension. Longer straps add reach for bulky cargo.
How do I pick the right end fitting?
Use S-hooks for speed, wire hooks for tight anchors, and flat snap hooks when you want a locking connection. If you do not have anchor points, consider endless loop straps around the cargo itself.
What Working Load Limit do I need?
Add up the securement needs of the load and select straps with a WLL that meet or exceed that value. Remember WLL is typically one third of break strength.
