Stainless Steel Eye Rivet
Stainless Steel Eye Rivets
Eye rivets create a fixed tie-down point in a pre-drilled hole. Unlike a threaded eye bolt, an eye rivet expands and widens just behind the eye as it's set, so the body locks into place inside the hole instead of relying on threads or a nut. Fasteners Plus stocks these eye rivets in Type 316 stainless steel for extra resistance to rust and pitting in marine, outdoor, and other corrosive environments.
Key Features
- Type 316 stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance in marine and outdoor applications
- Sets into a pre-drilled hole and expands behind the surface to lock in place, no threading or nut required
- Creates a permanent, low-profile tie-down eye once installed
- Built for tie-down duty, not rated overhead lifting
Common Uses
- Tie-down points in wood, sheet metal, or other pre-drilled material
- Marine hardware and other saltwater-exposed installations
- Securing tarps, covers, netting, or light cargo
- Anywhere a fixed anchor point is needed without access to the back side of the material for a nut
Choosing the Right Size
Eye rivet diameter needs to match the pre-drilled hole, and length needs to match the thickness of the material you're setting it into, so the rivet body can expand fully behind the surface and hold.
