Flexible Wire Rope for Hoisting, Suspension & Winch Applications

The 6x37 class construction is engineered to provide greater flexibility and fatigue resistance than 6x19 wire rope, making it ideal for applications involving repeated bending over sheaves and drums. While it offers less abrasion resistance than a 6x19 construction, its superior bendability helps extend service life in high-cycle lifting and movement applications. Manufactured from EIPS-grade steel, this rope delivers enhanced tensile strength and durability for demanding industrial use.

6x37 Wire Rope Configuration

Our wire rope is made using EIPS-grade cable. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) refers to the strength of the wire rope, providing approximately 10% greater tensile strength than IPS-grade wire rope and improving overall break strength.

The class of this wire rope is 6x37. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, indicating six outer strands surrounding the core and approximately 27-49 wires within each strand. The actual construction supplied is 6x36. If a different construction is required, please contact us before ordering.

Finish & Core

This wire rope features a bright steel finish protected with an A-1 petroleum-based lubricant. The lubricant is applied to both internal and external wires to reduce friction, minimize wear, and provide basic resistance against moisture and corrosion.

The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides greater support and structural stability than fiber core alternatives. IWRC construction improves crushing resistance and performs well in elevated temperature applications, with a general operating range of -40°F (-40°C) to 400°F (204°C).
