This 7/8" 19x19 compacted rotation-resistant wire rope is engineered for demanding lifting and hoisting applications where load stability, flexibility, and durability are essential. The compacted strand construction increases strength, improves spoolability, and enhances resistance to crushing and wear, making it an excellent choice for cranes, hoists, and other critical lifting systems.
Compacted Rotation-Resistant Wire Rope for Hoisting & Lifting Applications
The compacting process draws each strand through specialized dies and rollers during manufacturing, reducing diameter and creating a smoother outer surface. This results in greater strength compared to non-compacted 19x19 wire rope of the same diameter while also improving resistance to abrasion, crushing, and surface wear.
The 19x19 construction provides exceptional flexibility and handling characteristics, making it easier to spool and operate in demanding lifting environments. Combined with its rotation-resistant design, this rope helps maintain load control during lifting operations.
19x19 Rotation-Resistant Construction
This wire rope is designed with inner strands laid in the opposite direction of the outer strands. As the rope is loaded, the opposing strand directions counteract rotational forces, significantly reducing load spin and improving lifting stability.
With more than 10 outer strands, this rope is classified as a Category 2 Rotation-Resistant Rope, offering greater rotation resistance than Category 3 constructions such as 8x19 wire rope. This makes it well-suited for hoisting unguided loads and applications where load rotation must be minimized.
19x19 Wire Rope Configuration
Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in increased breaking strength and dependable performance under heavy loads.
The class of this wire rope is 19x19. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of 19 strands surrounding the core, with approximately 15-26 wires making up each strand. This configuration delivers an excellent combination of flexibility, strength, and rotation resistance.
Bright Finish & IWRC Construction
This rope features a bright steel finish protected with A-1 petroleum-based lubricant applied to both internal and external wires. The lubricant helps reduce friction, minimize internal wear, and provide basic protection against moisture and corrosion.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides greater support than fiber core constructions. IWRC wire rope offers superior crush resistance, enhanced load stability, and dependable operation in temperatures ranging from -40°F to 400°F.

Will my wire rope arrive as one continuous length?
Yes. The quantity you order will be supplied as one continuous, uncut length of wire rope. For example, if you order a quantity of 1,000, you will receive a single 1,000-foot length.
Can I order multiple separate lengths?
Yes. To receive multiple lengths, add each length to your cart as a separate line item. For example, if you need two 1,500-foot lengths, enter a quantity of 1,500 and add it to your cart twice. Each line item will be cut and supplied as a separate length.
Can I order lengths shorter than the minimum order quantity if the combined total exceeds the minimum?
Yes. If your combined order will exceed the minimum quantity requirement but you need shorter individual lengths, please call our team to place your order. One of our product experts will be happy to assist.
