Specifications

Manufacturer name: Simpson Strong-Tie
Quantity: 2
Description

The Crack-Pac injection epoxy is designed to repair cracks in concrete ranging from 1/64" to 1/4" wide in concrete walls, floors, slabs, columns and beams. The mixed adhesive has the viscosity of a light oil and a low surface tension, allowing it to penetrate fine to medium-width cracks in dry, damp or wet conditions with excellent results. Resin is contained in the cartridge and hardener is contained in the nozzle. This makes the cartridge clean and easy to mix while still chemically bonding the cracked concrete to restore strength. Dispenses with a standard caulking tool to avoid hassle with special dispensing tools.

Repair foundation stem wall cracks.

I'm giving five stars on ease of installation and workability. I used the product to inject a foundation stem wall vertical fracture in two locations approximately 16 inches in length each. For this repair you must paste the back of the crack so product does not pour out, this would result in wasted material and not a sufficient injection fill. I used the supplied ports and installed per the directions. The product flowed out of the tube with gravity, I didn't apply any pressure to the caulking gun. This told me that the product was filling the fracture into the footing itself. I let the first tube set up for about an hour before injecting the second tube. While injecting the second tube I did have to apply pressure to the caulking gun and the liquid epoxy came out the above port as I work my way up. This gave me the confidence that I was filling the vertical crack. I think waiting the hour between tubes for this application was the the most important part of the install.
