The Simpson Strong-Tie Outdoor Accents APVKB Decorative Knee Brace Connector adds both strength and modern design to your outdoor wood structures. Part of the Avant Collection, this connector is engineered to simplify knee brace installation while enhancing the look of pergolas, pavilions, and patio covers with its clean, straight-line styling.
Crafted from ZMAX galvanized steel and finished with and a black powder coat, the APVKB resists corrosion and maintains a sharp appearance in outdoor conditions. Its precision-fit saddle design ensures a tight connection between beam and brace, helping transfer lateral loads and reduce racking.
This connector is designed for easy installation and works with standard 4x or 6x lumber sizes. Each set requires two APVKB connectors, one at each end of the knee brace, and installs using SDWS22312DBB structural wood screws and STN22 hex head washers (sold separately) for a fast, clean finish.

Installation:
- Place one APVKB connector at each end of your knee brace.
- Align with the post and beam to form a diagonal brace.
- Secure each connector using Simpson SDWS22312DBB screws and STN22 hex head washers.
- Tighten screws until flush. No pre-drilling required in most wood.
