Description:

Notice - This connector is designed for Rough Cut lumber NOT nominal lumber (most common). This will only fit a joist that measures an actual 6x6". If you have a nominal joist measuring 5-1/2x5-1/2" you will need an U66 Joist Hanger


Simpson Strong-Tie U face mount hangers are a durable hanger designed specifically for use with rough cut lumber. The Strong-Tie U66R joist hanger features a G90 galvanized finish for added corrosion resistance and requires the use of hot-dip galvanized fasteners which meet the specifications of ASTM A153.


Installation:
  • Use all specified fasteners.
  • Use hot-dip galvanized (HDG) nails with ZMAX and HDG connector products. Use Type 316 stainless-steel nails with our stainless-steel connector products.
  • Joists sloped up to 1/4:12 achieve load tables.

NOTE: The correct fasteners installed in the correct position must be used to achieve published load values

6x6 Joist hanger

I was disappointed in the gauge of the metal, the length of the tabs, and the number of pre-drilled fastening holes. This product is meant to secure a full 6"x6" beam and it sure did not seem up to the job.
