Corrosion-Resistant 304 Stainless Wire Rope for Rigging & Hoisting Applications
Manufactured from Type 304 stainless steel, this wire rope offers greater corrosion resistance than galvanized wire rope while maintaining higher strength and a more economical price point than Type 316 stainless steel. The 6x19 class construction provides excellent abrasion resistance and durability, making it a reliable choice for applications that experience regular wear and contact with sheaves, drums, or pulleys.
6x19 Wire Rope Configuration
The class of this wire rope is 6x19. These numbers nominally refer to the construction of the rope, indicating six outer strands surrounding the core and approximately 15-26 wires within each strand. Compared to 6x37 wire rope, the 6x19 construction offers improved abrasion resistance but less flexibility and fatigue resistance.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides additional support and structural stability compared to fiber core alternatives. IWRC construction offers improved crushing resistance and performs well in elevated temperature environments, with a general operating temperature range of -40°F (-40°C) to 400°F (204°C).
