5/8" 19x19 Rotation-Resistant Wire Rope Cable

This 5/8" 19x19 rotation-resistant wire rope is designed for demanding lifting and hoisting applications where load rotation must be minimized. Featuring a compacted construction and high-strength Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS), this rope delivers increased strength, improved spoolability, and enhanced resistance to crushing and abrasion. Its flexible 19x19 design makes handling easier while providing the rotation resistance needed for single-part and multi-part lifting systems.

Note: Rotation-resistant wire rope should not be used with swivels, as doing so can negatively affect rope performance and service life.

Compacted Rotation-Resistant Wire Rope for Hoisting & Lifting Applications

The 19x19 construction utilizes opposing strand lay directions, with inner strands rotating opposite the outer strands to counteract rotational forces while under load. This significantly reduces load spin and makes the rope ideal for lifting unguided loads. As a Category 2 rotation-resistant rope with more than 10 outer strands, it provides greater rotation resistance than Category 3 constructions such as 8x19 wire rope.

The compacted manufacturing process reduces rope diameter while increasing density, resulting in greater strength, improved abrasion resistance, enhanced crushing resistance, and better drum spooling characteristics compared to non-compacted ropes of the same diameter.

19x19 Wire Rope Configuration

This wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade (Extra Improved Plow Steel) steel. EIPS wire rope provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in improved breaking strength and longer service life under demanding conditions.

The class of this wire rope is 19x19. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of 19 outer strands with approximately 15-26 wires per strand. This high strand count contributes to the rope's flexibility, handling characteristics, and rotation-resistant performance.

Bright Finish & IWRC Construction

This rope features a bright steel finish protected with A-1 petroleum-based lubricant applied to both internal and external wires. The lubricant helps reduce friction between wires while providing basic moisture and corrosion resistance.

The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) delivers increased strength and support compared to fiber core ropes. IWRC construction improves crushing resistance, maintains rope shape under load, and performs reliably in temperatures ranging from -40°F to 400°F.
