Specifications
Right Hand Regular Lay
7/8" 8x19 Spin-Resistant Wire Rope Cable
This 7/8" 8x19 spin-resistant wire rope is engineered to minimize rope rotation while under load, making it a dependable choice for hoisting unguided loads with single-part or multi-part lifting lines. Manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and featuring an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), this rope combines strength, durability, and controlled handling for demanding lifting applications.
Rotation-Resistant Wire Rope for Hoisting & Lifting Applications
The 8x19 construction utilizes opposing strand lays, with the inner strands wrapped in the opposite direction of the outer strands. This design helps counteract rotational forces generated during lifting, reducing load spin and improving stability during operation.
Classified as a Category 3 Rotation-Resistant Rope, the 8x19 construction offers moderate rotation resistance while maintaining greater durability and wear resistance than many Category 2 rotation-resistant ropes. It is commonly used in crane operations, lifting systems, and other applications where load control is important.
8x19 Wire Rope Configuration
Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in increased breaking strength and dependable performance under demanding loads.
The class of this wire rope is 8x19. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of eight outer strands surrounding the core, with approximately 15-26 wires making up each strand. The actual construction supplied is 8x25, which falls within the 8x19 classification and delivers the performance characteristics expected from this class of rope.
Bright Finish & IWRC Construction
This wire rope features a bright steel finish protected with an A-1 petroleum-based lubricant applied to both internal and external wires. The lubricant helps reduce friction, minimize internal wear, and provide basic resistance against moisture and corrosion.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides greater structural support than fiber core constructions. IWRC wire rope offers enhanced crushing resistance, improved load stability, and dependable operation in temperatures ranging from -40°F to 400°F.
