General-Purpose Wire Rope for Hoisting, Rigging & Winch Applications
The 6x19 class is one of the most widely used wire rope constructions due to its ability to withstand abrasion while maintaining functional flexibility. Compared to 6x37 wire rope, the 6x19 construction offers greater wear resistance, making it well-suited for applications where the rope frequently contacts drums, sheaves, or other surfaces.
This combination of durability and strength makes it a popular option across construction, industrial, utility, and material handling applications.
6x19 Wire Rope Configuration
Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in improved breaking strength and dependable performance under heavy loads.
The class of this wire rope is 6x19. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of six outer strands surrounding the core, with approximately 15-26 wires making up each strand. This configuration provides an excellent balance of abrasion resistance and flexibility for general-purpose applications.
Bright Finish & IWRC Construction
This wire rope features a bright steel finish protected by an A-1 petroleum-based lubricant applied to both internal and external wires. The lubricant helps reduce friction between wires, minimize internal wear, and provide basic resistance against moisture and corrosion.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) offers greater support than fiber core alternatives. IWRC construction improves crushing resistance, increases load stability, and performs reliably in temperatures ranging from -40°F to 400°F.
