Description

At a common general-purpose width, this straight eye nylon lifting sling, also called a type 3 nylon web sling, uses a flat eye and eye nylon sling design at each end that works in a basket hitch, choker hitch, or vertical hitch. In this width, its 2-ply construction steps up capacity while staying easy to handle. Select lengths are also available as a reinforced flat eye web sling, with wear pads sewn into each eye for extra abrasion resistance.

Key Features

  • Flat eye at each end, versatile enough for basket, choker, or vertical hitch use
  • Reinforced eye nylon sling option available in select lengths, with wear pads sewn into each eye for a straight eye sling reinforced ends build
  • Sling is manufactured in the USA from heavy-duty industrial webbing rated at 9,800 lbs. per inch
  • working load limits for each hitch type are recorded on a sewn-in leather tag
  • To measure, go from the load-bearing point of one eye straight to the load-bearing point of the other
  • Proof-testing certificates are available for an added fee, requested at time of order rather than after

Applications

  • General rigging jobs that need to switch between basket, choker, and vertical hitches without changing slings
  • Everyday lifts where a flat eye and eye nylon sling connects easily to standard rigging hardware
  • Jobs with repeated hook contact at the eyes, where stepping up to the reinforced flat eye web sling length adds abrasion resistance

Determining Sling Length

Sling length is measured from the load-bearing point of one eye to the load-bearing point of the opposite eye, providing the effective working length of the sling.

Sling Proof Testing Certificates

Proof testing certificates are available for a nominal fee and must be requested at the time of your order. For certified proof testing, each sling is individually tested at the factory to twice its rated vertical rating, and the results are formally documented for compliance purposes. Under normal production procedures, only select slings are tested as part of routine quality checks. Because of this, every sling requiring a proof test certificate must be tested individually during manufacturing.
