Nylon Flat Eye and Eye Lifting Slings
A type 3 eye to eye sling is one of the most versatile lifting slings you can put on a job, and one of our best sellers for exactly that reason. It works in all three hitch types, basket, choker, or vertical, and it can be removed from underneath a load once the lift is set down.
Built from industrial-grade nylon, these slings stretch 6-8% at capacity, which helps absorb shock during a lift and lets the sling return to its original shape afterward. If your application calls for less stretch, our polyester round slings are a comparable alternative.
Type 3 slings come in four ply configurations, 1-ply, 2-ply, 3-ply, and 4-ply, so you can add capacity by stepping up plies instead of stepping up width.
Choosing an Eye Type
Pick a standard eye, built from the same nylon as the rest of the sling, or a reinforced eye with Cordura, a high-strength, cut-resistant fabric that adds abrasion resistance right where the sling contacts other lifting hardware. On 1" and 2" widths, the eye is standard. At 3" and wider, the eye is tapered for easier attachment and release.
Measuring Your Type 3 Web Sling
Length is measured from the load-bearing point of one eye or fitting to the load-bearing point of the other.

Protecting Your Sling
Nylon's light weight is part of what makes it easy to work with, but that same lightweight material is more prone to abrasion damage during a lift. Sling protection extends the life of your sling and keeps it performing longer.
