Each shackle is forged from alloy steel, quenched and tempered, and marked with the Working Load Limit for fast on-site verification. The bolt, nut, and cotter system helps prevent unintentional pin rotation during vibration or sliding loads which makes these ideal for permanent or semi-permanent rigging points.

How to Select a G-2140 Shackle
- Match the WLL to the heaviest expected load. Never exceed the listed Working Load Limit.
- Confirm size and geometry so the bow width and pin diameter fit your sling, chain, or hardware.
- Choose the finish that fits your environment. Galvanized for corrosion resistance or self colored where preferred.
- Plan certifications before checkout. Request MTRs or approvals at the time of order if your job requires them.
- Inspect before service and remove from use if you see deformation, thread damage, or wear beyond limits.
Compliance and Identification
Crosby® G-2140 shackles meet Grade 8 performance requirements and the applicable portions of Federal Specification RR-C-271. Each shackle is permanently marked with its WLL. Select sizes and models are available with type approvals and certification packages when requested at the time of order.
