This USA-made 5/8" bright wire rope is manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and features a 6x36 construction within the 6x37 class, providing exceptional flexibility and fatigue resistance. Built with an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), this wire rope offers superior support, crush resistance, and load stability, making it an excellent choice for hoisting, winching, suspension systems, and other applications involving repeated bending and dynamic loads.
Colored strands may appear in some domestic wire ropes for manufacturer identification or visibility purposes. These color variations do not affect assembly break strength or performance.
Flexible Wire Cable for Hoisting, Winching & Dynamic Rigging Applications
The 6x37 class is designed for applications where flexibility and bending performance are critical. Compared to 6x19 wire rope, the 6x36 construction provides greater flexibility and superior fatigue resistance, helping extend service life in systems that regularly cycle over sheaves and drums. While slightly less abrasion-resistant than a 6x19 rope, it excels in high-movement lifting and rigging applications.
The bright steel finish is lubricated with a petroleum-based compound that helps reduce internal friction, minimize wear, and provide light moisture protection. Manufactured to meet RR-W-410 and ASTM A1023 specifications, this rope delivers dependable performance in demanding industrial environments.
6x37 Wire Rope Configuration
Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) offers approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in increased breaking strength and improved performance under heavy loads.
The class of this wire rope is 6x37. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of six outer strands surrounding the core, with approximately 27-49 wires making up each strand. The actual construction supplied is 6x36, which falls within the 6x37 classification and provides the flexibility and fatigue resistance this rope class is known for.
