Standard L-Track Tie Down Rails

Standard L-track is the do-everything rail for cargo securement. Its narrow aluminum profile has evenly spaced slots that accept stud fittings, so you can set a tie-down point right where your load needs it, whether that is a motorcycle in a pickup bed, a garden tractor on a utility trailer, or gear in an enclosed cargo van.

Why Standard L-Track?

  • Versatile mounting: works for both surface and flush-mount installs.
  • Lightweight and corrosion resistant: machined from 6061-T6 aluminum.
  • Pre-drilled: rails ship with mounting holes sized for 1/4", 6mm, or #12 hardware.
  • Cuttable: trim to length with a hacksaw or a carbide-tipped chop saw blade to fit your layout.

Finish Options

Choose bare aluminum for a clean, classic look that also takes paint well, or a black anodized finish for a darker rail with a harder surface. Anodizing is bonded into the metal rather than applied as a coating, so it resists scratches from loading and unloading. Examples include the 6" aluminum L-track and the 72" black anodized L-track.

Mounting Notes

A through-bolt with a washer, a nut, and thread locker gives the most reliable joint. Screws into wood or sheet metal will hold, though with less strength than a bolted connection. We do not publish a single working load limit for the rail because the installed strength depends on the fasteners and the structure you mount to, so check with your trailer or vehicle manufacturer and review WSTDA T-5 section 3.4. A 1-1/2" fastener pack is a common companion.

Our L-track is intended for cargo control and recreational use and is not certified for wheelchair occupant restraint in buses, vans, or other transport vehicles.
