Recessed (Flanged) L-Track

Recessed L-track, also called flanged L-track, is made to sit down into a routed or cut-out channel so the rail finishes flush with the floor. Once it is installed, the anchor slots are level with the surface and there is no lip for a tire or boot to catch on. That makes it a strong choice for pickup beds, toy haulers, delivery vehicles, and enclosed trailers where wheeled cargo like motorcycles, ATVs, and carts rolls across the track.

What to Know

• Material: 6061-T6 aluminum, which is lightweight and corrosion resistant.
• Mounting: flange edges give a landing surface for a recessed install, with pre-drilled holes on 4" centers sized for 1/4", 6mm, or #12 hardware.
• Lengths: available as a 12" flanged rail and a 96" anodized flanged rail, and both can be cut to fit.
• Finish: the anodized finish is bonded into the surface, which helps it stand up to scuffs, sun, and road spray better than bare aluminum.

Installation Notes

A through-bolt with a nut and washer, plus thread locker, is the most dependable way to secure the rail, and screws into wood or sheet metal will hold with less strength. Hardware is sold separately, and the 1-1/2" fastener pack is a common pairing. Anodized rail does not weld well as-is, so if welding is part of your plan, remove the anodizing from the weld zone first. Close off cut ends with recessed end caps.

We do not publish a single working load limit for the rail, because installed strength depends on the fasteners and the structure. Check with your vehicle or trailer manufacturer and review WSTDA T-5 section 3.4. Our L-track is intended for cargo control and recreational use and is not certified for wheelchair occupant restraint.

Complete the System

Add stud fittings and accessories and L-track straps. The 10' filler strip covers unused slots to keep dirt out and the surface smooth.
