Rescue and Descent Equipment

A fall arrest system stops the fall, but a worker left hanging in a harness needs to be reached quickly. Rescue and descent equipment gives your crew a way to act on a rescue plan, whether that means a worker rescuing themselves, a team lifting or lowering someone, or a supervisor controlling a descent.

Why Planning Matters

Suspension in a harness can become a serious problem within minutes, so a plan and the right gear should be in place before work begins. Equipment should match the type of site, the available anchor points, and what your trained crew can use confidently. Training and manufacturer guidance are part of the plan, not an afterthought.

Rescue Equipment Kits

The FallTech 150' rescue equipment kit is built around a UniDrive device that offers three ways to operate: a manual handwheel, a telescoping ratchet handle, and a drill adapter. It works with a 7/16" kernmantle rope and is described for use on cell towers, wind turbines, and other work at height. A shorter 50' demo and training kit helps teams practice before they need to use the real thing.

Assisted Rescue Ladder

The FallTech 20' assisted rescue ladder deploys from a bag with a pre-connected anchorage carabiner. It supports self-rescue and assisted rescue of a conscious worker, and it packs into a compact hi-vis storage bag.

Suspension Trauma Straps

Trauma straps give a suspended worker a loop to stand in, which takes pressure off the legs while they wait for rescue. Many harnesses include them, and they can also be purchased separately: see the FallTech straps or the 3M DBI-SALA straps.
