Wire rope sleeves, stops, and ball swages are essential components for creating secure, long-lasting cable assemblies. Whether you're fabricating wire rope slings, architectural cable systems, or custom rigging assemblies, these fittings help produce reliable terminations and prevent unwanted cable movement.

Many wire rope sleeves and stops can be installed with a hand swaging tool, making them an efficient solution for field installations and shop fabrication without requiring a hydraulic swaging press.

Wire Rope Sleeves (Ferrules)

Wire rope sleeves, also called ferrules, are commonly used to form permanent loops and eye terminations in wire rope and aircraft cable. Available in multiple materials and styles, selecting the proper sleeve depends on your cable type, operating environment, and corrosion requirements.

Aluminum and copper sleeves provide an economical solution for general-purpose indoor applications. Zinc-coated copper sleeves offer additional protection against corrosion while maintaining the strength and workability of traditional copper sleeves.

Important: Aluminum sleeves should never be used with stainless steel wire rope, as dissimilar metal corrosion can reduce the strength and service life of the cable assembly.

For marine environments, outdoor installations, and corrosive conditions, Type 316 stainless steel sleeves provide outstanding corrosion resistance and long-term durability.

Wire Rope Stops

Wire rope stops are designed to create fixed stopping points on a cable or to help prevent fraying at the cable end. Aluminum wire rope stops are easy to install and are commonly used on galvanized and bright wire rope. As with aluminum sleeves, they are not recommended for use with stainless steel cable.
