Triangle Choker Sling - Type 1
Type 1 Nylon Triangle Choker Sling
Two metal triangles anchor this sling, one at each end of the webbing, the same basic setup you'll find on a type 2 triangle sling. What sets the type 1 apart is a single design change: one triangle is larger and slotted, sized to let the opposite end of the sling pass through it. That slot is what unlocks the choker hitch.
Why the Slotted Triangle Matters
A type 2 triangle sling is limited to basket and vertical hitches. The type 1's slotted end adds choker capability on top of that, so a single sling handles all three hitch types. For a rigging crew standardizing their gear, that means fewer sling types to stock and fewer swaps mid-job, which is the main reason the type 1 tends to be the more cost-effective pick over time.
Fitting Material
Triangles ship in steel as the standard. Aluminum is available by request, though only on slings up to 6" wide and in 1-ply construction, so confirm your width and ply requirements fit that window before ordering aluminum.
Ply and Custom Orders
1-ply and 2-ply are the standard configurations shown here. Need more capacity? 3-ply and 4-ply builds are available as custom orders, just call our sales team to get one started. Every sling, standard or custom, is made to order with a 1-3 day lead time for assembly before it ships.

Sling Proof Testing Certificates
Need documentation for compliance? Request a certified proof test at the time you place your order, for a nominal fee. Each certified sling is pull tested at the factory to twice its rated vertical capacity, with the results formally recorded. Outside of that request, testing during a standard production run is done on a random sample rather than every unit, since a certified sling has to be tested individually at the point of manufacture.
