Does not fit in a 1/2 inch hole

Purchased these thinking they would work like a 1/2 inch tapcon. Drill a 7/16 hole and impact in the 1/2 inch bolt. These require a 1/2 inch hole and you need about 5/8 to drill them in. So they did not work for my project since the hole in my base plate was only 9/16
