The screws would not tap through the metal roofing. I had to pre drill all the holes. When I started, I tried without pre drilling and the screw tip would just dull and turn blunt. Pre drilling worked, but I was under the assumption that they would self tap through the metal roof.

Thanks for leaving us a review. Stainless steel has great corrosion resistance but is a soft metal. The carbon steel metal roofing is harder so the screws will need to be pre-drilled when using the SS screws. We also carry a ST-XL which is a stainless steel cap with a carbon steel shank, this screw will go through the metal panel and has a small drill point tip. Please let us know of any questions.

These screws are fantastic. They were recommended to me by a friend that is an iron worker. The fact that they’re completely SS combined with the large head that covers the rubber washer better means they are much less likely to leak over time.
No separate steel washer, it's formed into the head. Whatever the material these are made of it is not magnetic.
The screw color matched the Tuftex SeaCoaster corrugated panels we used as a deck dry-below perfectly. They drove into the pressure treated framework easily and with no issues.
