Domestic 5/16" 7x19 Galvanized Aircraft Cable
This 5/16" galvanized aircraft cable features a flexible 7x19 construction with a hot-dip drawn galvanized finish for long-lasting corrosion resistance and dependable performance. Designed for smooth bending and repeated movement, it is an excellent choice for cable railing systems, winches, pulleys, control cables, and a wide variety of general-purpose utility applications.
Note: Despite the name, aircraft cable is not intended for aircraft use. Consult a qualified rigging professional before using this cable in critical overhead lifting applications.
Flexible Galvanized Cable for Railings, Winches & Utility Applications
The 7x19 construction combines 19 individual wires within each of seven strands to create one of the most flexible aircraft cable configurations available. This design offers excellent bendability and fatigue resistance, making it ideal for applications involving pulleys, sheaves, or repeated movement.
The hot-dip drawn galvanized finish provides superior corrosion resistance while maintaining the cable's full breaking strength. Unlike standard galvanizing processes that can reduce cable strength, the drawn galvanization process preserves tensile capacity while improving ductility and resistance to rust, making it well suited for outdoor and moisture-prone environments.
7x19 Aircraft Cable Configuration
This aircraft cable is manufactured from IPS (Improved Plow Steel), providing dependable strength for general-purpose cable applications. The 7x19 construction consists of seven strands, each containing approximately 19 individual wires, delivering an excellent balance of flexibility, durability, and fatigue resistance.
Aircraft cable is available in diameters up to 3/8", while traditional wire rope is commonly available in much larger diameters for heavy-duty lifting and rigging applications.
