EcoFoil “Big 8” HVAC Duct Insulation Wrap (R-8) is engineered to limit radiant heat gain and loss while providing an airtight thermal break around residential and commercial ductwork. When all seams are taped, the wrap forms a continuous vapor barrier that helps prevent condensation and moisture-related issues. For best results, we recommend sealing seams with EcoFoil Premium High Tack HVAC Tape to ensure the insulation performs as one cohesive layer.
This duct wrap features a triple-layer polyethylene bubble design, with each layer bonded to reflective metalized surfaces for high radiant performance. The center contains a large single bubble layer supported by two thinner bubble layers, creating a combined thickness of approximately 9/16" to 5/8". Each roll includes two spacer strip rolls, which must be installed every 2 feet around the duct to achieve the full R-8 rating. Once the spacer strips are in place, the finished system builds to roughly 11/16" to 3/4" thick, forming an additional air chamber that enhances insulation efficiency.
