Closed & Closed Swage Socket Slings
Closed & Closed Swage Socket Slings
Not every wire rope assembly is meant to move from job to job. When a socketed wire rope goes into a more permanent installation, like structural support, a closed & closed swage socket sling is often the right fit. Both ends carry a closed socket with a hole sized for a pin or bolt, giving you a fixed, stable connection point on each side.
Why Swage Sockets Hold Up
A swager, essentially a hydraulic machine, presses each socket onto the wire rope during construction. That process reinforces the connection at exactly the point where cable and socket meet, which is typically where fatigue shows up first on other termination styles. The result is a sling built to resist that fatigue over time, whether it's supporting a structure or handling repeated lifts.
Open vs. Closed
Closed sockets take a pin or bolt through the hole, which suits applications where you want a bolted, semi-permanent connection rather than a quick-attach pin fitting. If your job calls for a pin already built into the socket instead, open swage socket slings are available as an alternative.
Sizing Options
These slings fit wire rope diameters from ¼" to 1-1/2", with working load limits ranging from 0.68 to 22.8 tons depending on the specific sling you choose.
