Continuous Eye Wide - Type 8

A continuous eye web sling, also called a type 8 lifting sling, is built for heavy loads while its wide body design protects cargo that's fragile or has a delicate finished surface. It's the sling to reach for when the load itself needs cushioning as much as the lift needs strength.

The eyes on a continuous eye sling aren't a separate attachment. They're formed by joining the long edges of an endless sling into one continuous loop, which adds strength at the exact point where most slings take the most stress. The eyes are tapered for easy attachment to crane hooks and hoist hooks. The one thing to plan around: a type 8 sling works with a basket hitch only, so confirm that fits your rigging setup before you order.

Continuous eye web slings come in 8 widths, each available in one- or two-ply construction, covering working load limits from 18,800 lbs. up to 131,700 lbs., so there's room to size up or down as the job requires.

Measuring note: width is measured across the short side of the sling, not eye to eye. Length is measured by laying the sling flat and measuring end to end, including the eyes.

Sling Proof Testing Certificates

Certified proof testing can be added to your order for a nominal fee, but it has to be requested when you place the order. A certified sling is pull tested at the factory to twice its rated vertical capacity, with the results formally recorded for compliance purposes. Outside of a certified request, only random slings from a given production run get pull tested as part of routine quality checks, since a proof-tested sling has to be tested individually at the time it's manufactured.
