Fall Protection Carabiners

A fall protection carabiner is a locking connector used to join components of your system, such as a harness D-ring, a lanyard, an SRL, or an anchor. Unlike a rock-climbing carabiner, these are designed for industrial fall arrest use, with self-closing, double-locking gates that help prevent accidental opening while you work.

Sizes at a Glance

FallTech carabiners in this collection are forged alloy steel with a stated minimum static strength of 5,000 lbs., and they come in three gate sizes. Choose the one that fits over your anchor or ring without being forced.

What to Check Before You Choose

  • Gate opening and interior size: make sure it fits the anchor, ring, or structure you are connecting to.
  • User capacity: confirm the worker's weight with tools and gear is inside the range listed on the product.
  • Compatibility: carabiners should be used only with connectors and anchors that are compatible and rated for the application.
  • Gloved use: self-closing, one-handed operation matters when crews are wearing gloves in cold or rough conditions.

Where Carabiners Get Used

Carabiners show up all over a fall protection system. Crews use them to attach lanyards to harnesses, to connect SRLs to anchor points, and to clip onto anchorage such as beam clamps and concrete embed anchors. They can also be used with D-ring extenders where the manufacturer's instructions allow. Safety carabiners are non-returnable because of their safety rating, so double-check size and compatibility before ordering.
