Standard Transport Chain Hooks

Our Grade 70 transport fittings are engineered for tie down use with standard transport chain. They deliver the same high strength performance as Grade 70 chain and include a yellow zinc chromate finish for quick identification in the field. Each fitting is marked with the grade so you can confirm compatibility at a glance.

Common Hook Types in This Collection

  • Clevis Grab Hook Compact throat for positive chain engagement. Ideal when you need to shorten chain or secure a specific link position. Variants with latches are available to help prevent unintended release during removal.
  • Clevis Slip Hook Wider throat opening than a grab hook for easier connection to D-rings and other anchor points. Designed for dependable tie downs with G70 chain. Yellow zinc chromate finish provides corrosion resistance.
  • Connecting Links and Accessories Coupling links and double clevis links are available for building out transport chain assemblies and binder connections.

How to Choose the Right Transport Hook

  1. Match the grade and size. Use Grade 70 hooks with Grade 70 chain in the same nominal size for a balanced system.
  2. Select the hook style. Use grab hooks when you need precise chain link engagement. Choose slip hooks for a wider throat and easier connections to anchor points.
  3. Verify the WLL. Confirm the working load limit meets or exceeds your required load. Never exceed the listed WLL.
  4. Consider accessories. Add coupling links or double clevis links to complete the assembly or connect to binders.
