Polyester Rope

Polyester Rope

Polyester rope delivers strength, durability, and low stretch for demanding jobs like rigging equipment, securing loads, and setting up guy lines. It performs in both wet and dry conditions and resists abrasion, which makes it a popular choice in marine, industrial, arborist, and utility work.

Why Choose Polyester Rope

Polyester shares nylon's abrasion resistance but stretches far less, which makes it safer where movement or recoil would be hazardous. It keeps its strength when wet and resists rot, mildew, mold, sunlight, and most chemicals.

• Low stretch: a good fit for static loads and safety-critical applications.
• Water resistant: it doesn't absorb water.
• UV resistant: it holds up under extended sun exposure.
• Heat resistant: it handles high-temperature environments better than nylon.

Common Uses

• Antenna guy lines and tower support
• Barge tow and tugboat rope
• Tree rigging and climbing support
• Safety and rescue lines
• Rigging and lifting slings
• Marine dock and mooring lines

Types of Polyester Rope

• Twisted polyester rope: easy to splice, strong, and simple to handle.
• Solid braid polyester rope: smoother and more flexible than twisted, and it resists kinks and rotation.
• Diamond braid polyester rope: a durable woven outer sheath, good for general-purpose tie-downs, boating, and pulleys.

Choosing the Right Polyester Rope

• Static loads: twisted or solid braid for minimal stretch and high tensile strength.
• Marine use: polyester keeps its strength when wet and holds up in sunlight.
• Pulley systems: diamond braid or solid braid glide more easily and resist rotation under load.

Caring for Your Rope

• Inspect for fraying, abrasion, or damage before each use.
• Store in a dry, shaded spot away from harsh chemicals.
• Clean with mild soap and water, and avoid harsh solvents or abrasives.
