Sliding Choker Wire Rope Slings

Single-leg sliding choker wire rope slings are made in the USA with domestic materials and designed for lifting applications that benefit from an adjustable choker hitch. The sliding hook moves between the sling eyes so the hitch can be positioned around the load, while the thimbled eye helps protect the wire rope from abrasion where it connects to the hook.

These sliding choker slings meet or exceed applicable ASME B30.9 and OSHA 1910.184 requirements.

Sliding Choker Sling Construction

  • EIPS IWRC Wire Rope: Bright steel Extra Improved Plowed Steel wire rope with an Independent Wire Rope Core provides strength and resistance to crushing.
  • Flemish Eye: A durable eye termination designed to maintain dependable sling performance.
  • Thimbled Eye: Reinforces the connection point and helps reduce wear where the rope contacts the hook.
  • Sliding Hook: Moves along the sling to create an adjustable choker hitch around the load.
  • Metal Tag: Displays sling capacity, care information, and operating instructions.

Proof Testing

Proof-test certificates are available upon request and must be specified when ordering. For certified orders, each sling is individually pull tested at twice its vertical rated capacity and the results are documented.
