Description

Galvanized Drop Forged Wire Rope Clips

These galvanized drop forged wire rope clips are designed for secure, dependable wire rope terminations in rigging, construction, utility, marine, and industrial applications. Manufactured from drop forged steel and protected with a corrosion-resistant galvanized finish, they provide superior strength and durability compared to malleable wire rope clips while delivering reliable performance in demanding environments.

Heavy-Duty Wire Rope Termination Solution

Wire rope clips are commonly used to create wire rope eyes by looping the rope back onto itself or to connect two sections of wire rope together. Their field-installable design makes them a practical solution for wire rope assemblies that require adjustment, repair, or installation without specialized swaging equipment.

The drop forged construction offers enhanced strength and durability, making these clips suitable for more demanding applications where secure wire rope retention is critical.

Galvanized Finish for Corrosion Protection

The galvanized coating helps protect the clip against rust and corrosion, making it well suited for outdoor, marine-adjacent, utility, agricultural, and industrial environments. This protective finish helps extend service life and maintain reliable performance when exposed to weather and moisture.

Proper Installation Matters

A well-known rigging rule to remember when installing wire rope clips is:

"Never saddle a dead horse."

This means the saddle portion of the clip should always be installed on the live end (load-bearing side) of the wire rope, while the U-bolt is placed on the dead end (terminated side). Following proper installation procedures helps ensure maximum holding strength and assembly reliability.

The 1/4" galvenized wire rope clips are of outstanding quiality and will hold securely when I pull a 100 foot Sycamore tree top to get the tree leaning sufficiently to cut it down.
