Description

This strap uses a cam buckle rather than a ratchet, so tension comes from hand pressure alone — faster to install and release, and gentler on delicate loads.

Key Features

  • Heavyweight polyester webbing woven with more picks per inch than typical straps on the market, for a webbing that resists abrasion, tearing, and cutting
  • Pull-to-tighten cam buckle that won't over-tension fragile cargo the way a ratchet can
  • Zinc-plated hardware that stands up to weather and everyday corrosion
  • Tagged and stenciled with break strength and working load limit information to support compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations, CVSA and WSTDA guidelines, and North American cargo securement standards

Applications

  • Light-duty cargo bundling
  • Luggage and cooler securement
  • Quick-release bundling where a ratchet isn't needed

Installation

Thread the webbing through the cam buckle and pull the free end by hand to remove slack, then continue pulling until the load feels snug. Because cam buckles tighten by hand tension rather than mechanical leverage, avoid over-pulling on fragile cargo. Check that the buckle has engaged fully and re-inspect tension periodically during transport.

Handy Light Duty Hold downs

Readers; OK, so this writer was in search of some new securing straps-reasons not needed here. The common ratchet style, tho good for holding 'things giant' are a P.I.A. with small items. Any who read this know the background.
So, I learned of these and then found these by this Company, and bought them. They came in good order. I find them well made, EASY to use, and hold securely the things they are used on. The two piece construction makes them easy to fit to the work at hand. The cam locks work well. In all, I am well pleased with this item.

Excellent Product

We use this strap by the hundreds in our manufacturing plant. We choose the cam buckle for ease of use and the color yellow for safety as we use these to strap open small billets of glass in our plant. this strap work flawless and is dependable until it is fully depleted of it life. US Cargo Control provides us with many of our strapping needs company wide and we have not found another source that meets our needs with such great quality and value!!!

I have used

I have used cam straps for many years with my canoe and kayak. I bought these to use with a trailer when transporting different things. Compared to the ones I use with my boats these are difficult to use. Very difficult to feed the strap through the cam lock mechanism. Hard to pull them very tight. Better to use a ratchet strap. I bought about 6 of them in a variety of sizes.
