Description

Sealtite Kwikseal ZXL Woodbinder screws are self-drilling screws designed to attach metal roofing & siding to wood purlins on post-frame & residential metal roof applications. Stitch screws are designed specifically to fasten overlapping panel together. Coated screws feature a tough 2.5 mils of powder coating that will not chalk or fade due to the UV inhibitor in all colored coatings. 5/16" cupped HWH with a molded ZAMAC 5 Zinc-Aluminum alloy provides lifetime protection against red rust on the head & washer. The ZAMAC 5 alloy provides more strength than more common ZAMAC 3 alloy. You may obtain a free copy of the written warranty upon request. Washer face design helps to capture rubber EPDM washer even when driven at an angle. Threads transition from fine to coarse to generate superior holding strength in various wood substrates. Sharp point with pronounced lead thread consistently drills high-tensile 29 & 26 gauge steel with no “point walking".

Nice fastener

I like the large 5/16 head and small drill tip of these screws. No issues with the batch I got. I was a little disappointed with this company- i wanted to modify my order but the reply was not in line with what I would consider excellent customer service- said sorry you’re order had shipped( this was received before a shipping email was received and there was a holiday weekend involved. I understand but still.Oh well. I would order from them again.

Just what I needed

Most roofers only use the flat head screws with flat washers. Over the course of 8-10 years, the sun will cause the washers to deteriorate to the point of a roof leak. Had this happen two years ago on my first house. Had a metal roof installed on moms house and yes, they used flathead screws with washers. The screws I bought are capped over with a dime to stop this deterioration and will be changed shortly. This should take care of the problem for a lifetime. Well worth the price and effort. Glad I could find them here.
