Different lengths of Tapcon screws are used for different thickness of materials being fastened. The large diameter Tapcon screw cuts its own threads into concrete due to its high performance. The anchor bodies are zinc plated, Grade 5 and are constructed from hardened carbon steel. It has a single piece design and is installed with a length identification code.

The Sawtooth designs available for 5/8" and 3/4" sizes offer improved performance in large diameter holes. They perform superior to wedge anchors and Install in less than half the time of a wedge anchor or adhesive anchors. Carbide tipped standard ANSI hammer drill bits should be used to install the anchor. No grinding or torching is essential to remove the anchor.
