Description

7/8" 6x37 Wire Rope Cable | Galvanized

This 7/8" galvanized wire rope is manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and features a flexible 6x37 class construction. Designed for applications requiring repeated bending and dependable strength, it is commonly used for hoisting, suspension systems, winch lines, lifting equipment, and general rigging applications where flexibility and corrosion resistance are essential.

Corrosion-Resistant Wire Rope for Hoisting, Rigging & Winch Applications

The 6x37 class is valued for its superior flexibility and fatigue resistance compared to 6x19 wire rope. Its higher wire count allows the rope to bend more easily around drums, pulleys, and sheaves while reducing wire fatigue in high-cycle applications. While slightly less abrasion-resistant than 6x19 constructions, it excels in applications where repeated movement and smooth operation are priorities.

6x37 Wire Rope Configuration

Our wire rope is manufactured using EIPS-grade steel. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) provides approximately 10% greater tensile strength than standard IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in improved breaking strength and dependable performance under demanding loads.

The class of this wire rope is 6x37. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, consisting of six outer strands surrounding the core, with approximately 27-49 wires making up each strand. The actual construction supplied is 6x36, which falls within the 6x37 classification and delivers the same flexibility and fatigue-resistant performance expected from this class of wire rope.

Hot-Dip Drawn Galvanized Finish

This wire rope features a hot-dip drawn galvanized finish that provides superior corrosion resistance compared to bright wire rope while maintaining the rope's original strength. Unlike some traditional galvanizing methods that can reduce breaking strength, the drawn galvanizing process preserves strength while enhancing ductility and long-term durability.

The galvanized coating also resists cracking and flaking, providing dependable protection in outdoor, marine-adjacent, and harsh environmental conditions.

IWRC Construction

The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides greater structural support than fiber core constructions. IWRC wire rope offers enhanced crushing resistance, improved load stability, and reliable performance in temperatures ranging from -40°F to 400°F.
