This 3/8" galvanized wire rope is manufactured from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) and features a versatile 6x19 class construction. Corrosion-Resistant Galvanized Wire Rope for Rigging, Hoisting & Winching
The 6x19 class is one of the most widely used wire rope constructions thanks to its balance of durability and flexibility. Compared to a 6x37 rope, it provides greater abrasion resistance while maintaining enough flexibility for everyday lifting and rigging operations. The hot-dip drawn galvanized finish offers superior corrosion protection, making this rope well-suited for outdoor, marine-adjacent, and high-moisture environments.
6x19 Wire Rope Configuration
Our wire rope is made using EIPS-grade cable. EIPS (Extra Improved Plow Steel) refers to the strength of the wire rope. Its tensile strength is approximately 10% greater than IPS-grade wire rope, resulting in increased break strength and improved overall performance.
The class of this wire rope is 6x19. These numbers nominally refer to the rope construction, indicating six outer strands and approximately 15-26 wires within each strand. This design provides an excellent combination of abrasion resistance and flexibility for general-purpose applications.
The Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) provides greater support than a fiber core. It improves crushing resistance, enhances load stability, and performs in temperatures ranging from -40°F (-40°C) to 400°F (204°C).
Hot-Dip Drawn Galvanized Finish
Hot-dip drawn galvanization provides outstanding corrosion resistance while maintaining the rope's original strength. Unlike traditional galvanization methods that can reduce breaking strength, the drawn galvanizing process preserves the rope's load-carrying capacity.
This finish also improves ductility and durability, helping the rope resist cracking, flaking, and environmental wear while extending service life in demanding outdoor conditions.

Will my wire rope arrive as one continuous length?
Yes. The quantity you order will be supplied as one continuous, uncut length of wire rope. For example, if you order a quantity of 1,000, you will receive a single 1,000-foot length.
Can I order multiple separate lengths?
Yes. To receive multiple lengths, add each length to your cart as a separate line item. For example, if you need two 1,500-foot lengths, enter a quantity of 1,500 and add it to your cart twice. Each line item will be cut and supplied as a separate length.
Can I order lengths shorter than the minimum order quantity if the combined total exceeds the minimum?
Yes. If your combined order will exceed the minimum quantity requirement but you need shorter individual lengths, please call our team to place your order. One of our product experts will be happy to assist.
