The Simpson Strong-Tie OU is a 7 gauge, face-mount hanger connecting a joist to a header for an ornamental application. The OU series of ornamental joist hangers are designed to be bolted to both the header and the joist. The OU612 hanger features a flat black powder-coated finish which produces a much more durable and better looking finish than standard paint.

• Use all specified fasteners.
• Load values allowed assume a carrying member of not less than 3 1/2".
• Roof loads are 125% of the floor loads unless limited by other criteria. Floor loads may be adjusted for other load durations according to the code, provided they do not exceed those in the roof column.
• Additional glulam beam widths are available. Add an "X" to the name and specify width, i.e. OU68X, W = 5.25.
• Post bases do not provide adequate resistance to prevent members from rotating about the base and therefore are not recommended for non top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports).
• Skew and slope options not available.
