Specifications
The Simpson Strong-Tie RSV Vertical Steel Rod Hanger is a one-piece, self-drilling anchor designed for suspending 3/8" threaded rods from overhead steel members. Ideal for applications such as pipe hanging, fire protection systems, electrical conduit, and cable trays, this hanger ensures secure and efficient installations.
Key Features:
- Self-Drilling Design: Equipped with a #3 or #5 drill point, allowing for easy installation without pre-drilling into steel members ranging from 20 gauge to 1/4" thickness.
- Durable Construction: Made from carbon steel with a zinc-plated finish, suitable for dry, interior, non-corrosive environments.
- Versatile Applications: Supports various overhead installations, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Efficient Installation: Compatible with the Simpson Strong-Tie RND62 nut driver for optimal depth control and prevention of over-driving.
- Includes Nut: Comes with a preassembled nut to secure the threaded rod in place.
Installation Instructions:
- Attach the RND62 nut driver to a drill.
- Insert the rod hanger into the nut driver.
- Using rotation-only mode, drive the hanger until it contacts the steel surface. The nut driver will disengage at the appropriate depth.
- Insert the 3/8" threaded rod, ensuring minimum thread engagement equal to the rod's nominal diameter.
- Tighten the included nut to secure the rod.
