Description:

The SP stud plate tie is a plate-to-stud connection providing uplift resistance. Ideal for connecting studs plates at a ninety degree angle to provide additional support and strength. Stud plate ties are suitable for windy environments as the reinforced stud plates are protected from being pulled apart by high winds from hurricanes, tornados, etc. This unit attaches the stud to double top or double bottom plates stud for a low profile finish.
Installation:
  • Use all specified fasteners; see General Notes
  • SP1/SP2 — one of the 0.148" x 3" stud nails is driven at a 45° angle through the stud into the plate
