The Simpson Strong-Tie VGTR Variable-Pitch Girder Tiedown is engineered for high-capacity girder truss connections in wood framing applications. Designed for both new construction and retrofit scenarios, it provides robust uplift resistance, making it ideal for areas prone to high winds.
Key Features:
- Material: 7-gauge steel with G90 galvanized finish for enhanced durability and corrosion resistance.
- Design: Predeflected crescent washer accommodates top chord pitches up to 8/12.
- Installation: Attaches to the side of the truss using Strong-Drive® SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws (included).
- Versatility: Available with one flange concealed for attachment to trusses without tails.
- Capacity: Suitable for single or double installations on multi-ply girders to achieve higher uplift capacities.
Applications:
- Ideal for securing girder trusses in residential and commercial wood-framed structures.
- Suitable for both new construction and retrofit projects requiring enhanced uplift resistance.
Installation:
- Use all specified fasteners as per the manufacturer's guidelines.
- Install the washer component so that the top of the washer is horizontal and parallel with the top plate of the wall.
- For trusses without overhangs, specify VGTR/L.
