Domestic 3-Leg Wire Rope Slings
Domestic 3-leg wire rope slings are made in the USA with quality Crosby® hardware and use three equal-length sling legs connected to a single oblong master link. Also called 3-leg bridle slings, they provide improved load balance and control for lifts using three attachment points.
Select the wire rope diameter based on the required capacity, then choose the sling length that fits your application.
Construction & Features
- EIPS Wire Rope: Available in 6x19 or 6x36 construction depending on diameter.
- IWRC Core: An Independent Wire Rope Core adds strength and resistance to crushing.
- Flemish Eyes: Each leg uses a Flemish eye splice secured with a carbon steel sleeve for durable lifting performance.
- Protective Thimbles: Reinforce the upper eyes and help reduce wear where the sling connects to the master link.
- Crosby® Alloy Eye Hooks: Standard configurations use Crosby® eye hooks on the lower ends for connection to compatible lifting points.
- Metal Identification Tag: Displays sling capacity, care information, and operating instructions.
Rated capacity varies based on wire rope diameter and sling angle, so always select the sling according to the actual lifting configuration and applicable capacity rating.
How to Measure Sling Length
For a 3-leg bridle sling, measure each leg from the load-bearing point of the oblong master link to the load-bearing point of the lower hook or eye. Do not include the full length of the master link in the sling reach measurement.
Proof Testing & Identification
- Proof Testing: Proof-test certificates are available for a nominal fee when requested at the time of order. Each certified sling is pull tested to 2x its vertical rating and the results are documented.
- Inspection & Identification: Each sling is inspected, certified, and supplied with a metal tag displaying capacity, care, and operating information.
