Type 9 Attached Eye Wide Sling

Some loads don't need more strength so much as more surface contact. A type 9 attached eye wide sling gives you that: a wider sling body that spreads support across bulky, lightweight cargo for extra stability, or cushions a delicate, finished, or fragile surface that a narrower strap might mark or damage. You'll also see this style called an extra wide basket sling.

Eye and Body Construction

The sling body is single-ply webbing, with narrow eyes made from 1" or 2" webbing attached at each end. Those eyes are kept intentionally narrow so they fit smaller hooks, even on a sling with a wide body.

Basket Hitch Only

Type 9 slings, sometimes called cargo basket slings or wide cargo slings, are built for basket hitches only. If your job needs a wide nylon sling with more capacity than this style offers, our type 8 continuous eye web sling is worth a look. Materials and Capacity

Like the rest of our web slings, type 9 slings are built to industry standard from heavy-duty webbing rated at 9,800 lbs. per inch, and every sling ships with a sewn-in tag showing its lifting capacity.

Measuring Your Type 9 Sling

Width is measured across the short side of the sling, not from eye to eye. Length is measured by laying the sling flat and measuring end to end, including the eyes.

Sling Proof Testing Certificates

Certified proof testing can be added to your order for a nominal fee, but it has to be requested at the time you place the order. Certified slings are pull tested at the factory to twice their rated vertical capacity, with the results officially documented for compliance purposes. Outside of that request, standard manufacturing only tests a random sample from each production run, since providing a certificate means that specific sling has to be individually pull tested at the time it's made.
