Wire rope slings handle heavy-duty crane lifts, and braided wire slings add more capability. A braided sling is formed by plaiting wire ropes together to make the sling body and an eye at each end.

Why Choose a Braided Sling

Compared with a regular wire sling, a braided sling offers more flexibility, more friction to grip loads, even stress distribution, a higher rated capacity, and resistance to kinking. Braided slings are often used when a load needs to be turned, since the braid supplies the friction and kink resistance to turn it. All of our braided slings are made from Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIP) with an Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), a strong core option for heavy-duty lifts.

3 Part Braided Sling

The 3 part braided sling is the cost-effective option, braided in three parts for strength and flexibility. If you want more capability, look at the other braids.

6 Part Braided Sling

The 6 part braided sling has a flat cross section with a wide surface area, which gives good balance and load control.

8 Part Braided Sling

The 8 part braided sling is our most popular option. It braids into a round shape that resists rotation and kinks, and its helical shape helps distribute stress evenly.

9 Part Braided Sling

The 9 part braided sling offers the highest rated capacity of our braided wire slings, for the most demanding high-capacity lifts.
